Advise: to travel from the USA to smaller cities in Colombia (such as Pereira) you might want to book the arrival to a major city such as Bogotá and purchase the domestic flight with a major local airline in Colombia such as VivaAir or Avianca. That will save you money since you will not have to pay the first airline for booking a second airline. Be aware that local flights have lower baggage weight limits (less weight allowances because of being a domestic flight, being not booked as an international flight) and will probably charge extra for the exceeded pounds from their allowed weights. Also, you have to do the time / schedule determinations so that you have enough time to switch planes. The same idea could apply to other countries.
